“ Simple cafe with very good food. Nothing fancy about this place (tables, no booths, minimal decor) but it's very popular with locals. The catfish has been rated best in Missouri, but u enjoyed country fried steak with white gravy and mashed potatoes, green beans (canned but fine) and sweet tea. Their blackberry cobbler alone is worth the trip! Service was provided by a quiet, competent man, who warmed up to us. ”
“ Fast service and yummy food, a great find as we traveled through this small town. We'll definitely be back. ”
“ Tonight was our first time eating here and what a pleasant surprise it was given that the appearance of the place isn't much. My husband and I both had catfish and it was tender with a nice crispy breading just like we like it. The coleslaw was cold and crisp and very good. Generous portions as well. The service was excellent and super friendly. We would definitely go back. The menu was extensive and we only tried the catfish but it gets a 5! ”
“ For a small town near the lake I am absolutely in love with the food here. It has very great options including fish, steak, hushpuppies, coleslaw, baked potatoes, etc. that the whole town loves. For a resturqnt that uses the same bathroom as eagle stop is very very nice. The service is fast and friendly. If you're looking for some country food down in southeastern Missouri this is the place to be. I love it, my family loves it, and my friends love it. ”
“ Stopped in on a trip back from Springfield. Surprised by this little cafe attached to a gas station. The catfish was great with a light cornmeal breading, hearty portions, excellent service, and extremely clean. Highly recommend! ”
“ Great spot to eat. Probably the best dish I have had was the chicken fried steak w mashed potatoes and fried okra. Other notable dishes were the Buffalo Chicken salad, fried catfish, ribeye (great value for the price), burgers and pork tenderloin sandwich. Very affordable! The two1- star reviews seem a little fishy (pun intended!). I have been probably 30 times with a family of five..... never had any issues with food quality. ”
“ Catfish meal was delicious. Nice filets and breading, fresh fries, and good coleslaw. The hushpuppies were some of the best. Nugget ice for drinks for the win! ”
